I am 43 years old, white male who struggles with communicating my thoughts and feelings as a leader in my company with minorities (people of color and women) without walking away wondering if I sounded like the “alpha white male who is trying to tell everyone what to do.” I will be honest, because I knew I wanted to speak with a coach about race and social injustice, I was hesitant about speaking with Ms. Janessa when I found out she was an African American female, but in the first session she made me feel safe.
